Abstract: This paper engages in comparative fieldwork on Ladino revitalisation movements in Buenos Aires, Istanbul, and Israel. During 2013 and 2014, I travelled to Israel, Istanbul, and Buenos Aires to interview Ladino revitalization activists. As a participant-observer, I engaged in various Ladino activities. I also examined material published by language groups including the Ladinokomunita email group. This work explores Ladino revitalization activities in light of the distinct socio-historical context of the different locations. Results are examined in terms of the prominence of activities, general patterns found in all locations and trends unique to the geographic context. Ladino cannot continue living as it has lived. However, the internet makes it possible to imagine a new future for the language.
